VBR Race Zone x ASUS ROG at Gamescom: The Mainstage Recap

Gamescom is the world's largest gaming festival – over 357,000 visitors, 128 countries, one week in Cologne that sets the tone for gaming culture worldwide. Last year, VBR Race Zone stood right in the middle of it, on the ASUS ROG Mainstage.

Not a racing simulator demo booth. Not an RC car display case. Twelve real VBR Race Cockpits, running for six straight days, in front of the biggest gaming crowd on the planet.

The Numbers

  • 12 VBR Race Cockpits on the ASUS ROG Mainstage

  • 10 Cockpits open for visitors to race

  • 2 Cockpits built into the stage program itself

  • 6 days of non-stop programming

JP Performance got behind the wheel. Several other influencers followed. And for six days, VBR Race Zone was the conversation on the show floor.

Why Gamescom, Why ASUS ROG

Gamescom draws the exact audience POV Racing was built for – people who already understand what a real race feels like on a screen, and who immediately understand the difference when the car in front of them is real. Pairing with ASUS ROG put VBR Race Zone at the center of the Mainstage program instead of a side booth – full visibility, full crowd, six days straight.

In Philipp's Words

"That was a really cool thing – teaming up with a partner like ASUS ROG at Gamescom to get people excited. We were the number one topic of conversation. Six days of programming in total, and once again proof that our system simply works and delivers." – Philipp Lietz, Co-Founder & CEO

Gamescom Season Is Back

Gamescom 2026 runs August 26–30 in Cologne – and this year, we're cheering from the sidelines instead of the show floor. We're heads-down getting VBR Race Zone ready for Australia, and hoping to be back on a stage like the ASUS ROG Mainstage in 2027.

Until then: have an amazing Gamescom 2026, everyone. See you next time.

About VBR Race Zone Founded in 2021, VBR Race Zone invented teleoperated POV Racing – the world's first system where you control a real car, on a real track, from a VBR Race Cockpit with real force feedback. No simulation, no VR. Trusted by Porsche, Ford, Deutsche Telekom, Goodyear and ASUS ROG, VBR Race Zone is now expanding globally through franchise partnerships. Find a Race Zone near you at vbrracezone.com.

About POV Racing So what do you call this, if it's not a simulator and not an RC car? People search for "RC sim," "sim RC car," "FPV racing" – all close, none of them right. POV Racing is real: a real car, a real track, real force feedback, seen live through the car's own camera. Technically, it's teleoperated racing. But nobody types that into Google. So we call it what it feels like – POV Racing. A category that didn't exist before VBR invented it.
